What is the thyroid gland?

The thyroid gland is a butterfly shaped gland that lies in front of your windpipe. The function of this gland is the production of thyroid hormones that is essential for day to day function.

Will I have voice change after my surgery?

Whilst voice change can occur after thyroid surgery, our experienced surgeons at Perth Endocrine Surgery ensure that you will have the lowest risk of having voice change after surgery.

When can i return to work?

Almost all patients can return to work after a week of surgery. Heavy physical activity should be avoided for at least two weeks after surgery
